About JobsMarket.ie

JobsMarket.ie is an Irish careers and employment information project. It brings together practical explainers, official labour-market statistics and links to places where readers can search for opportunities. The aim is to make the next step easier to understand.

Our first guides cover construction careers, salary comparisons, apprenticeships and unemployment statistics. We distinguish between an explanation of an occupation, a national statistic and a live job listing. Each serves a different purpose.

Where the numbers come from

The unemployment chart uses the CSO MUM01 dataset, specifically the seasonally adjusted rate for people aged 15-74. The reference month and source update date appear beside the data. A website refresh does not change those dates.

CSO statistical information is available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, unless otherwise stated. We credit the Central Statistics Office, Ireland. Charts are our presentation of the published data, and do not imply CSO endorsement.

How the guides are written

JobsMarket.ie publishes the guides under its own name, with an editorial review date and links to the official sources used for each subject. Programme details are checked against SOLAS, Generation Apprenticeship and Teagasc information; construction pay floors against the WRC. CSO tables identify their dataset, units and reference period. We keep sector averages separate from occupation-specific rates and legal pay floors.

The weekly data import updates CSO unemployment and earnings figures. It leaves editorial review dates unchanged. Pay orders and training guidance need a separate editorial check, including their effective dates and who they cover. We do not invent vacancies or claim that a partner is hiring. Corrections can be reported through the contact details below.

Partners and photographs

Existing partner links are retained in a visible directory on that page only. Partner services provide local context; a link is not a guarantee of work or a current recruitment announcement.

The photographs are sourced from Unsplash and hosted locally. Each guide has its own cover image and credit. Dublin photograph; construction photograph; Mediamodifier / Unsplash; qyy qyyy / Unsplash; Thomas Werneken / Unsplash; Unsplash licence. Typefaces use their accompanying open font licences.
